How Spotify for Artists is Removing Historical Artist Data

Spotify has just announced that they will be removing your old Spotify for Artists artist data that predates June of 2020. Here’s what this means for you and how to save it before it’s gone for good…

How Spotify for Artists is Removing Historical Artist Data

What’s new?

Starting July 1st, Spotify for Artists will provide only data on song pages for the past 2 years, plus the year to date. Removing this data makes way for new features like:

  • Custom date range filters on more pages
  • New engagement stats on your Songs page
  • New fan segmentation of your active audience
  • More historical data on your Audience engagement page
  • A new roster management view

(Note: Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to see all-time stream counts for your songs. )

“How do I download my historical data?”

Before June 30th, you can still download your historical data if you’d like to keep it.

On their website, Spotify explains, “Your historical data from December 31, 2020 and earlier will be available to download from Spotify for Artists until June 30, 2023. — All you have to do is look for the downwards arrow icon on song pages to download the CSV file of your data.

In addition, you can’t do this on the Spotify for Artists app, only desktop.
